Munchkin d20 PBEM
Well the time has finally come to start the Munchkin PBEM.
I have openings for one additional player (max of 5 in the game), and
will allow more if any of the people who have asked to play so far back
out.
The power level in this game will be extreme, so if you don't like
gnomes with chainsaws run on grain alcohol you should probably
stay away.
But never fear you will be challenged by the amazing potted plant
of doom.
If you are interested let me know, but hurry as I am sure the spots
will fill fast.

end for the long-awaited Munchkin d20 pbem.

d20 Superheroes: Mutants and Masterminds
Much fun and throwing of large objects was had by all! None of the
Bob Squad showed their strange, misshapen faces, much to Greg's relief.
The game lasted well into the night and nobody wanted to stop, so it
must've been good, and the consensus is that the Mutants and Masterminds
system is one of the best Superhero RPG systems available. I'd guess
we'll be seeing more of this one.
[Oh, and Greg? We're onto you. No more will we believe you when
you say the adventure isn't in your Champions universe! -- Bopper Bob]
For Open Gaming this June I am offering to run Mutants & Masterminds
the D20 Superhero RPG (I know, what a surprise). This takes place outside
of my normal grim and gritty superhero universe
Yes I did learn
my lesson after the Bob Squad incident in Four Color to Fantasy. A shame
the Emperor destroyed that planet testing one of his super-weapons and
then eliminating any trace of the plant from the imperial archives.
;-D
[Editor's Note: Actually, the Emperor destroyed a papier mache duplicate
of the planet hastily constructed by the Bob Squad to save their world.
Yay, Bob Squad!]
This adventure takes place in Freedom City, Massachusetts. A rash of
museum burglaries has made its way toward Freedom City. Heroes from
the other cities have been unable to catch the thief or thieves and
all signs point to Freedom City being the next target in this crime
wave. Can our heroes rise to the challenge where others have failed?
Well find out in June
Freedom City's finest will be available or custom heroes can be made
before hand by contacting me at wilcoxgregory@netscape.net and we can
set up a time and place to create him/her.

Notes from Kalvin, 10/29
Vedui!
Carnage by the Lake ran this past week end, and I'd say the new venue
was a big success. I have no complaints about the gaming space, the
accommodations, the food, or the hot water. We got to spend some time
and/or play a few games with Bill C, Scott L, Tom M, Sean, Patty, Erik,
Michele, Hilary, Gaylord... I'm probably forgetting someone; had a chance
to harrass Evil Jay just a bit; and caught up with some of the Carnage
folks.
Saturday night we watched the funniest movie in the history of movies...
The Gamers. I have it on good authority that the purple ninja is a recurring
character; he shows up in all their movies. The only thing we need to
do better is coordinate the time slots of our games so that we don't
have to either A) miss each others' games, or B) cannibalize each others'
pool of players. I know how disappointing it is to drop fifty hours
(or more) into a convention game, only to have it not run for lack of
players.
Meanwhile, on to some news of the Known Spheres...
The HackMasters of BlackHawk return to the Temple of Horrendous Doom
this Saturday, November 1 (5 pm) at Calvin Carter's house in Essex.
EverQuest d20 resumes on Saturday, November 15 (noon) at my house here
in froglok-infested Monkton. Gregbert, this means you... let me know
if you're going to make the trip.
The company of the hammership StarVoyager prepares to investigate a
ruined cyclopean cloud-castle deep within the air-world they have discovered
in the fringes of AElospace (part of the dreaded Oard Empire). Follow
the adventures of the StarVoyager at http://www.rdinn.com/show_topic.asp?which=1514
The expedition from DreamHammer Castle hangs suspended in a Rope Trick,
over a churning mass of lizard kings and giant insectoid monsters...
as their spell's duration is about to run out. Can they escape to fight
another day? Stay tuned.
Having defeated the fiendish creature behind the magic doors Schalk,
Turgon, Taran, and Ipslore turn their attention to looting the room.
Wait! Did you hear that? Hmmm...
Deep in the Proving Grounds, our "heroes" rest and recuperate
in the relative safety of the LichLord's domain. Merin lives once again
and has promised to repair da Zombie as soon as she is able. Then, I
suppose, it's back out to the dungeon to hunt down that Pit Fiend...
and resume the search for the Sacred Feather of Victory. Bart, please
LMK if you're still with us...
In Gary Jackson's MiddleWurld, the Fellowship of the Die must face a
trio of Giant Spyder Magi as they try to rest from their epic battle
with the Vile Flesh Hunters. Shuganaki Tso has returned to life, but
he will remain mostly dead all day. Poor Prince Alfred of Teer (rightfully
called "the Unlucky") remains thoroughly dead, and the Fellowship
must decide whether to seek heroic methods of revivifying him... or
to consign him to his AfterLife.
In the Kingdoms of Kalamar, our brave band of heroes has gathered up
its loot and heads back to town, the better to gear up just a little
better before braving the unknown lower levels of Eralion's ruined keep.
Veteran DM Tom Mechler has recently begun his first play by e-mail game,
The Dungeon Delve, at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DungeonDelve/?yguid=161893831
As soon as our intrepid adventurers buy any last moment supplies (and
maybe place a bet on their own chances of survival), we will enter the
Black Hole for the first time.
Black Knight Comics and Bakuretsu Con will sponsor yet another Game
Day at the Best Western in South Burlington this January... exact date
yet to be determined. Check out www.bakuretsucon.org for details, and
I will post the date here as soon as it becomes available.
Battle with the zombies (et.al.) in the warrens beneath Tragar's End
resumes the week of Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to seeing the
Poultney group, and Navhar's looking forward to facing the zombie master...
and splitting his skull to his knees.
Hey, that's about all for today. Pesky work thing and all. Don't forget
to check out the aurora tonight. Third biggest magnetic storm on record
hits today at about noon (ET).
All Take Care,
Kalvin
