Re: april (dragon hunting)
Just a quick check...did we come up with a plan of action?
We are gaming this Saturday, correct? Starting as close to noon as possible?
Cheers!

My friends and comrades.I agree that we should wait until morning, because I can ask Pelor for His divine help in ways more specific to our immediate task. For example, he can grant us Protection from Fire (or other energy) that will remove 120 points of damage from every fire-based attack for a couple of hours. His presence will also improve our abilty to resist the dragon's aura of Fear (+4). For that matter, His presence in me will help those around me regardless of what spells are cast. I believe that I can also give Bull's Strength to everyone if desired, though Cat's Grace is not a clerical spell.
I would prefer to not fight this creature at the top of the mountain. That's it's territory and allows it to fly around us with impunity. I could try to entange it in a briar web, but I have a feeling that it will simply break free, if it gets entangled at all. I could try summoning some air elementals, but apart from that, I can't think of anything I can do to keep the thing grounded.May the light of Pelor illuminate you all.Tess.--

fists will hurt the dragon. We haven't mentioned the other dragon-like
things that we saw, smaller tho they were...should we try and destroy
those first before taking on the older wyrm?
I cannot use a bow of that sort (read: my weapon groups don't include
bows, just crossbows), so Westwind is likely the best person to take the
shot. I suppose I could run up and stick the arrow in by hand! :) I am
really not good at ranged combat; I prefer to get up close and personal
to my prey. Quite frankly, I think cornering the dragon inside a cavern
would make sense, as it negates the dragon's flight ability. Perhaps we
should scout out a cavern large enough for it to enter, and set a trap?
We don't HAVE to go into its lair if we don't want to.
I know little about dragons, but I am not worried about fear. After
all, haven't you slayed dragons before? I am more concerned about the
other flying lizards we observed. I mislike the idea of sending
Westwind in alone as "bait"... if this dragon is somehow connected with
the Slave Lords, it may know about a powerful halfling warrior named
Westwind. The Slave Lords themselves know about you all, we should
expect the worst, that this dragon may know as well.
I do not think the tunnel will lead to anywhere, but I am willing, since
we are resting up anyway, to continue to explore it.
[OOC for a moment] Andrew, the dragon that attacked our ship, that one
also looked demonic in nature. Wraith doesn't know about that, but I
bet Westwind and Kespin (who saw it close up) remember that vividly.
