Non-Game-Related...
I got this from a friend today, and I'm hoping that some of you folks are either interested in adopting a greyhound or maybe you know someone who is!
Our vet told us a Greyhound track is closing at the end of May in Plainfield, CT and they have 1000 greyhounds needing adoption by the end of May! If you are interested you can go to:
http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org or call our Vet: Stephanie Holzman at 802-375-9376
A few selling points that people might not know:
- They don't shed
- They don't need or want much exercise
- They are good with Kids & mid-large sized dogs, but you have to watch them around small dogs & cats (anything that might look like a bunny!) Apparently they screen all of them for cat-worthiness, etc.
- They have to be kept in a fenced (not invisible) yard or on a leash because their chasing instinct is so strong...
- They hardly ever bark.
Please spread the word around to anyone who might be interested. Dr. Holzman (vet mentioned above) has two greyhounds she has adopted herself, so she's a great person to answer any questions you might have.
